You've stress-tested your idea from multiple angles — what AI can do, whether it's a real product, and whether it fits the workflow. Now it's time to synthesise that work into a clear, defensible statement of the specific opportunity you're pursuing. This is the document that locks in your direction before you move into design.
The common mistake at this stage is staying vague because vagueness feels flexible. "An AI tool for [niche]" isn't an opportunity definition — it's a category. A real opportunity definition tells you exactly what gap exists, exactly who has that problem, exactly why existing tools (including general AI) don't solve it well, and exactly why building a product here makes sense now. If you can't write that clearly, you're not ready to design yet.
