Before planning what to build, define what you're trying to achieve and what you're working with. Constraints — on time, money, skills, and capacity — often feel like the enemy of good product work, but they're actually its starting point. A clear sense of your constraints produces a more realistic plan and a cleaner MVP.
The goal of this exercise is to turn vague intentions into specific commitments. What is this MVP actually for? Not 'to launch the product' — but what specific question should it answer, or what outcome should it produce, that lets you decide what to do next? And what does success actually look like — in concrete, observable terms?
