Strategy is the set of choices that defines how you'll win — who you're serving, what value you'll create, and how you'll create it in a way that's defensible. Without it, a product roadmap is just a list of things to do. With it, every decision has a frame: does this serve the strategy or not?

At this stage, strategy doesn't need to be complex. It needs to be clear. Who are you focused on? What are you doing for them that others aren't? How does focusing on that create some form of advantage — whether through specialisation, speed, pricing, trust, or something else? These choices are what separate a product from a feature.
