Responsibility isn’t a separate workstream

When founders hear “responsible AI,” it can sound like something abstract — policy talk, ethics frameworks, things a big company worries about.

In practice, it’s much simpler. It’s a set of small, practical decisions you make as you build.

What does the product do when it’s unsure? What happens if it gets something wrong? What do users see, and what don’t they see? Where does their data go? Who could get hurt if something breaks?

These aren’t hypothetical questions. Every AI feature you ship answers them — explicitly or by default. The only question is whether you’re making those answers on purpose.
