Interest is curiosity. People notice, ask questions, sign up to learn more. Demand is need. People want this solved, will pay to have it solved, and will switch from whatever they’re using today.

Both feel like progress. Both produce signals you can point to. Only one builds a business.

Confusing the two is one of the most common reasons founders feel “validated” and then watch the product struggle to catch on. Understanding the difference — and learning to look for the right one — is one of the most important habits you’ll build.
