Two different time horizons, working together
Founders often have one and not the other.
They have a vision — a story of where the product is going, why it matters, what the world looks like if it succeeds. But no concrete plan for the next three months.
Or they have a roadmap — a list of features for the next quarter — but no clear sense of why those features matter or where any of it is leading.
Both situations create their own kind of drift. Vision without roadmap is inspiration without traction. Roadmap without vision is activity without direction. The healthiest teams have both, and use them at the right moments for the right decisions.
