What makes a product hard to replace
It’s easy to build something new now. It’s much harder to build something that holds up.
A product can be useful and still be replaced quickly — by a competitor with slightly different positioning, a bigger marketing budget, or a cheaper price. The product worked. It just had no underlying strength to hold its place.
Real advantage isn’t a feature. Features get copied. It’s a structural property — something about how the product fits into the world that makes it harder to dislodge over time.
