Mobile use isn’t a side concern anymore
For most consumer products and many business ones, the majority of users now arrive on a phone — even when the product is mainly used on a laptop later.
That changes how to think about design. The mobile experience isn’t a smaller, less important version of the desktop one. For many users, it’s the only experience they ever have. For others, it’s the experience that shapes their first impressions before they ever see the bigger screen.
“Mobile-first” doesn’t mean only building for mobile. It means designing as if the constraints of a phone are the starting point — and letting the larger screen experience expand from there, not the other way round.
